The traditional Japanese drumming troup known as Kodo Drummers are not only the most acclaimed performing arts group in Japan, but are a world renowned. Using skill and precision with their taiko, or drum, the performers incorporate dance, song, instruments into their presentation of music and athleticism. The show unveiled at the Berlin Festival in 1981 and since then has featured over 3,300 performers across five continents including both artists and composers. Their tour brings them to Toronto’s Sony Center for a fantastical display of ancient theatrics.
