Based on a story and characters by Damon Runyon, the 52nd season of the Shaw Festival brings you Frank Loesser’s classic Broadway musical about gangsters and missionaries “Guys and Dolls”. It is one of the most performed musicals in the United States and you can see it in all its grandeur in Toronto. Directed by Poland’s Tadeusz Bradecki you’ll hear the tale set in New York City where Nathan Detroit, the organizer of the oldest permanent floating crap game, bets Sky Masterson that he can't make the next girl he sees fall in love with him; Miss Sarah Brown of the Save-a-Soul Mission. Meanwhile, Nathan's cold wife and the main attraction at the Hot Box nightclub - Miss Adelaide, only wants to get married. In the end the gamblers and "spunky do-gooders" are thrown together.
